... to LA's new big vocal band.

We aim to do a huge variety of funky stuff, big on horn sections and rhythm sections. Think back to Tower of Power, Sly and the Family Stone, Earth, Wind and Fire, but also a bit more current and rocked out like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But there are no instruments in this mixed voice, contemporary a cappella ensemble.

We are currently looking for singers and vocal percussionists to audition throughout this Summer 2009. To cover all the parts in our arrangements, we plant to grow, up to 20 or so members.

This will be a challenging and creative adventure. We plan to be an active voice in the Venice community as well as the a cappella community, as we are one of two Los Angeles region groups in the Contemporary A cappella League (CAL), a part of the Contemporary A cappella Society CASA.org.

Not all of the songs will be big complex arrangements. We will learn, perform and record a variety songs with rhythm being our key feature. Still we will do some Beatles, and other popular favorites.

Once we get our groove foundation, we plan to do plenty of original work. We will encourage all members to write originals. For more details on our repertoire, see here.
